Inspired Minds Classroom at the 2019 TCT Show
The CREATE Education Project is running the Inspired Minds Classroom at TCT Show for schools or colleges to take part.
The TCT Show is one of the world's leading 3D printing, additive manufacturing and product development events with over 300 exhibitors, taking place on 24th - 26th September 2019 at the Birmingham NEC.
The TCT Inspired Minds Classroom is a free 3 hour additive manufacturing experience for groups of 28 students. The experience is supported by leading Industry partners to be announced in the coming weeks.
The experience focuses on giving students an introduction to the skill sets needed for additive manufacturing along with the chance to hear from, and ask questions to leading experts who are using the technology within their respective fields.
1. Additive Manufacturing in Industry
New for 2019 - CREATE Education have invited a number of experts who use 3D design and additive manufacturing within their Industry. Each expert will give a short presentation as part of a group before subjecting themselves to interrogation from the audience as part of our 'Inspiration Panel'.
2. Inspired Minds Classroom Workshop
Led by Autodesk trained instructors, students will be given an introduction to CAD design skills using Autodesk Fusion 360. The students will design and model elements to fit within a challenge brief before learning how to slice and 3D print their models using Ultimaker 3D printing equipment.
3. TCT Show Tour
Students will follow a self-guided tour of the TCT show, to experience the excitement of this industry, visiting different exhibitors and question them on their technology, products and careers opportunities.
This experience is perfect for high school and college students - particularly those interested in Design Technology, Engineering and Product Design.
The event is completely FREE of charge, however schools will be expected to organise their own transport and a minimum of two supervising adults. Students will also be expected to bring their own packed lunch, as there will not be sufficient time within the 3 hour experience to visit the food outlets on site.
Spaces are strictly limited to 3 schools or colleges each day, these will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. However, if all the spaces have been booked, please book a place on our reserve list in case we have any cancellations.
