Schools eligible for £1bn energy-efficiency grant scheme

Schools are eligible for a £1 billion government programme to make public buildings greener, with the aim of helping the UK achieve its target of net zero by 2050.

This was part of Chancellor Rishi Sunak's ‘Plan for Jobs’ statement, made on 8 July.

Rishi also confirmed the already announcement funding of over £1 billion to start to rebuild schools in the worst condition in England, plus £760 million this year for key maintenance work on schools and FE colleges.
