Schools invited to get free air quality monitor

Schools are being reminded to sign up for a free air quality monitor and education resources as part of the SAMHE project, as registration closes on 1 June.

SAMHE (pronounced ‘Sammy’) stands for Schools’ Air quality Monitoring for Health and Education. It is a DfE supported research project which brings together scientists, pupils and teachers to help us understand indoor air quality in UK schools.

UK schools can self-register to receive an indoor air quality monitor linked to an interactive web app, enabling teachers and pupils to view and investigate data on classroom air quality.

Over 1,000 schools are already benefiting, and teachers have testified that it’s “powerful to see the live feed”, has "provided our science group with a wealth of data to interrogate and analyse" and the “range of options allows us to use this system across the STEM subjects”.
