Parents urged to take action against air pollution in new campaign

Environmental law-firm ClientEarth has launched a new project with the British Lung Foundation to help parents join the fight against air pollution to protect their children’s health.
Hundreds of schools across the country are located near roads with illegal and harmful levels of air pollution. Measures to reduce air pollution could be to introduce pollution exclusion zones around schools, and promote alternative ways to do the school run aside from in the car.
Parents and carers across the UK are encouraged to visit the network’s website to find out more or they can sign up to join straightaway.
Network coordinators at ClientEarth and the British Lung Foundation will also be organising activities in Greater Manchester, London, Merseyside and the West Midlands this year.
A new survey by the British Council has revealed that more than two thirds (67%) of primary school age children say they would like to spend more time at school learning a language.
