Anne Milton and Robert Goodwill have been appointed as new ministers at the Department for Education (DfE).
Anne Milton is the MP for Guildford and a former health minister. Goodwill, the MP for Scarborough and Whitby, is a former transport minister and immigration minister.
The two MPs have been appointed their new role in Theresa May’s ongoing reshuffle following the recent general election.
They will replace children’s minister Edward Timpson, who lost his Crewe and Nantwich seat to Labour, and skills minister Robert Halfon.
It has not yet been confirmed who will be carrying out which job.
A new survey by the British Council has revealed that more than two thirds (67%) of primary school age children say they would like to spend more time at school learning a language.
Forty-four per cent of education professionals are unfamiliar with the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, otherwise known as Martyn’s Law, according to new research.
