New digital and technology standards for schools

The Department for Education has updated its digital and technology standards, which focuses on laptops, desktops and tablets, leadership and governance, and accessibility.

The digital and technology standards support school staff to understand their roles and responsibilities to make sure that technology is accessible for all.

Digital accessibility means making digital products, content and services accessible and usable for all.

Everyone should be able to access the same information and use equipment, regardless of their needs and situation.

The standards address wider digital accessibility rather than personalised assistive technology, which needs to be addressed on a case-by-case basis.
