Decline in number of Key Stage 2 exam re-marks
There has been a lower proportion of KS2 tests put forward for remarks compared with last year, data shows.
According to a report from the Standards and Testing Agency (STA), re-marks for English reading, maths, spelling, punctuation, and spelling declined from 1.9 per cent to 1.4 per cent this year overall.
The amount of successful re-marks dropped by 1.3 percentage points in comparison to last year also.
The largest drop for re-mark requests was English reading, which dropped 1.2 percentage points, from 3.8 per cent last year to 2.6 per cent this year.
Despite this, the test saw more appeals than grammar, punctuation and spelling, with 15,420 submitted.
Re-marks for grammar, punctuation and spelling fell by 0.1 percentage points from 1.2 per cent of total tests taken to 1.1 per cent this year.
