New head appointed for education charity Policy Exchange
The founder of the grassroots Labour Teachers website John Blake has taken over as education chief at think tank Policy Exchange.
Blake will be leaving his current role of history consultant and leading practitioner at the Harris Federation to take over as education chief.
He will replace Johnathon Simons who will now join the Varkey Foundation - a not-for-profit organisation which aims to improve the standards of education for underprivileged children around the world.
Policy Exchange is an educational charity which was co-founded in 2002 by Michael Gove, the former education secretary. It focuses on promoting and developing policy ideas for public services.
He will take charge of a new team which includes Tom Richmond, a former government advisor and sixth form teacher, and Mark Lehain the principal of Bedford Free School.
In addition, they will be joined by Rebecca Lowe Coulson, who is part of the Conservative Home’s editorial team.
