EB News: 22/02/2017 - 15:43
An event designed to meet the needs of the increasing numbers of academies and schools in the process of obtaining academy status, is set to take place next month.
Bett Academies, which will run alongside The Education Show at the NEC in Birmingham, will offer advice, guidance and inspiration to academies, MATs and schools exploring academisation.
The event will begin on 16 March and will continue for three days. Leading names and policy setters will also share their insight on addressing the key challenges facing academy schools.
It was created in a bid to maximise leaders’ time away from school and help them to build “vital collaborative links with peers, key education stakeholders and suppliers”.
At the event, the continuing professional development (CPD) seminar sessions will offer over 20 hours of insight and address key issues.
National schools’ commissioner David Carter will be attending and will provide an update on “academy progress”. In addition, Rob Tarn, the regional chief executive and national leader of education at Outwood Grange Academies Trust, will be sharing advice on “implementing effective measures to transform schools and improve learning outcomes”.
Visitors will also get the chance to attend masterclasses and surgeries which will address common areas of concern such as safeguarding and health and safety.
Registration for Bett Academies and its CPD masterclass programmes are free, but it is recommended that people sign up early.
