Voting begins for next ASCL general secretary

Voting papers have been sent out to Association of School and College Leaders’ (ASCL) members for the election of its next general secretary.

The ASCL’s approximately 16,000 full members will choose between Geoff Barton and Chris Kirk, with the ballot closing on 24 January and the official result set to be announced on 10 February.

Barton has been a teacher for over 30 years and has been the head teacher of King Edward VI School in Bury St Edmunds since April 2002, while Kirk has worked in eduction for over 20 years, including 14 years at PwC, a stint managing ten schools at GEMS Education and six years at the Department for Education.
