Schools invited to take part in Road Safety Week

Road Safety Week, run by road safety charity Brake takes place from 16-22 November 2020, gives schools the chance to raise awareness about road safety.
Road Safety Week is the ideal time to run road safety lessons and assemblies or launch a campaign for safer local streets.
This year’s theme is No Need to Speed, a subject chosen following the findings in a Brake survey that only a quarter of people believe that vehicles travel at safe speeds on the street where they live.
Road crashes are one of the biggest causes of death and serious injury among children and young people. Dangerous roads also affect their ability to walk, cycle and live healthy active lifestyles. Road safety is a great topic to engage pupils of all ages, while meeting curriculum goals.
Road Safety week is supported by the Department for Transport and headline sponsors DHL and Specsavers.
