Government urged to put children at heart of spending

A group of over 120 organisations is calling for the government to put children at the heart of its spending decisions following concerns that services and support for children are at breaking point.

Supporters of the #ChildrenAtTheHeart campaign include teaching unions, children's charities, disability organisations, physical and mental health organisations and poverty campaigners.

The coalition has written a letter to the Chancellor and Prime Minister calling for urgent action to prioritise children and families in the government's spending decisions.

The coalition has also set up a public petition to government where members of the public can add their support.

The #ChildrenAtTheHeart campaign also has the backing of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Children.
