Three deputy directors added to support regional schools commissioners

The names of three more deputy directors have been revealed to academy trust chief executives.
The new appointments include Anne Casey, principal at UTC@MediaCityUK, who will support Vicky Beer, RSC for Lancashire and West Yorkshire; Dame Kate Dethridge, headteacher at Churchend Primary Academy in Reading, who will support North West London and South Central London RSC Martin Post; and Jonathan Lewis, assistant director of learning, skills and education at Northamptonshire County Council, who will support Tim Coulson, the East of England and North East London RSC.
The four remaining deputy director posts are yet to be announced.
According to an applicant pack, there will also be a ninth deputy director who will lead a national team and support schools commissioner Sir David Carter.
Underpinning the training will be a new expectation set out in the SEND Code of Practice, confirming that all staff in every nursery, school and college should receive training on SEND and inclusion.
