Our Managing Director, Chris Persey, spent 15 years as a teacher before establishing The Evacuation Company. His experience working within schools provides a unique understanding of the challenges faced by education professionals. This allows us to deliver practical advice and solutions that fit naturally into the day-to-day operation of schools and colleges, rather than simply meeting minimum legal requirements.
Every educational setting is different, which is why we begin with a detailed assessment of your buildings, evacuation routes and accessibility requirements. We then develop tailored Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs), Generic Emergency Evacuation Plans (GEEPs), Residential Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (RPEEPs) where appropriate and Building Emergency Evacuation Plans (BEEPs). These plans strengthen safeguarding, improve emergency preparedness and give staff the confidence to respond effectively.
Alongside evacuation planning, we supply powered evacuation chairs, evacuation chairs and specialist non-transfer wheelchair evacuation solutions. Through our partnership with The Stair Climbing Company, we also provide advanced powered stairclimbers that enable wheelchair users to be evacuated safely while reducing manual handling risks for teaching and support staff.
Training is central to our service. We provide evacuation chair training, powered evacuation chair training, refresher courses, servicing and PUWER inspections, ensuring both equipment and staff remain ready to perform when needed.
