TfL and Sustrans Healthy Street Officers to reduce school-run traffic

Transport for London (TfL) has announced a new programme that will see 'Healthy Streets officers' work across London’s boroughs to reduce school-run traffic and encourage greater walking, cycling and public transport use.

This year’s Road Safety Week will be held on 18–24 November and is encouraging everyone to ‘Step up for Safe Streets’.

The Youth for Brake project helps 11-16 year olds run local road safety and sustainable transport campaigns in their community

The Junior Roadwatch scheme gives children the opportunity to educate drivers caught speeding outside their schools

Charity Living Streets has delivered a report to the Transport Minister, Jesse Norman, setting out recommendations that would make it safer for children to walk to school, as well as clear up air pollution.

The new THINK! campaign is urging children to ‘stop, look, listen, think’ and is fronted by children’s presenter Sam Homewood.
