Schools are encouraged to get pupils doing something with nature and wildlife every day in June

The Land Trust has launched a three-year education strategy to encourage more children to get out of the classroom and learn in an outdoor environment.

Playing and learning outdoors will be a fundamental part of growing up in Scotland, following a national commitment from 50 people and organisations across the country.

The Education Endowment Foundation is calling on schools to take part in a new trial to see how adventure learning and challenging outdoor activities can boost pupil behaviour and attainment.

Over the next three years, the Land Trust will have a strategic focus on developing relationships with schools and nurseries within walking distance of its spaces.

As children spend so much time in their school grounds every day, it is hugely important that these spaces are designed for both children and nature.
