Views sought on GCSE and A level grading proposals

Following the government’s decision to cancel exams this summer due to the pandemic and for students to get calculated grades, Ofqual has launched a consultation to get feedback on its proposals.

The consultation asks who should receive a calculated grade; whether it should be students entered for exams in year 10 or below, as it was originally said that the arrangements should only apply to students in year 11 or above.

Other areas of the consultation seek views on how issues of bias can be addressed through statistical adjustment, as well as the appeals procedure.
