Schools invited to take part in Boots Soltan competition to win £5,000 in trips

The Soltan Sun Ready Schools programme from Boots is offering primary schools the chance to win £5,000 for school trips by taking part in the Sun Ready Photo Challenge.

The competition encourages schools to submit photos of how they stay safe and have fun in the sun, such as wearing their best sunglasses or favourite summer hat.

The competition is part of Boots Soltan Sun Ready Schools, a curriculum-linked programme providing free teaching resources that help to equip teachers and pupils with all the knowledge they need to stay safe on warmer days.

Jenny Kesterton, Brand Manager at Boots Soltan said: “We are excited to bring the Boots Soltan Sun Ready campaign back for another year, and offer schools prize money to put towards school trips. 61% of sun exposure occurs in the summer months so we know how important it is for children to cover up in the sunshine while they explore the great outdoors. By taking part in the Sun Ready Photo Challenge, they have the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge on how to stay safe in the sun.”

The Boots Soltan Sun Ready Schools resources include lesson plans, teachers’ guides, student- facing videos and homework activities that are available to use. The materials include ideas for Sports Day, Summer Fairs, assemblies, science experiments and writing tasks, all designed to educate about sun safety.

The first 100 schools to download the pack to enter the Sun Ready Photo Challenge will receive a Sun Ready Schools outdoor banner featuring top sun safety tips for their school, and free samples of Boots Soltan sun cream.

The Sun Ready Photo Challenge opens for entries on Monday 16 April. All photos must be submitted by Friday 8 June: http://bit.ly/sunreadyphotochallenge
