Nasen launches new SEND resources to support Early Years professionals

A new range of resources have been published by nasen to further support practitioners working in the Early Years.

Designed for professional development and to help practitioners to continue and improve inclusive practice within their setting, the new suite of practical and varied resources includes a range of podcasts and eight case studies covering the four broad areas of need.

Podcast titles include: ‘Early Identification of children with social, emotional and mental health needs’, ‘Supporting a child with autism and effective parent partnership’, and ‘Supporting a child with physical and sensory needs’ as well as many more.

The eight case studies go into more detail about individual children with a wide range of needs, including input from their parents as well as the professionals working with the children.

All resources also contain practical supporting documents such as examples of learning plans, personal passports, play plans etc, as well as useful places to go for further information.

Nasen Education Development Officer, Alex Grady said “At nasen, we believe that early identification of SEND is crucial to the support and development of children with SEND. We hope that Early Years practitioners will find this extensive selection of resources useful, so that we can all work together to improve accessibility and outcomes for our youngest children with SEND.”
