DfE-accredited Online Alternative Provision that works with you to support re-integration. We work in partnership with schools, local authorities and others to provide students who have additional needs or challenging circumstances access to the high-quality education they need and deserve.
Each year we work with hundreds of schools and thousands of learners across more than 130 local authority areas. Established in 2012 and part of Inspired Education Group, we have a strong track record of supporting vulnerable learners from years 7 to 11.
Online Alternative Provision That Works
Academy21 is the first online alternative provision accredited by the Department for Education under the OEAS scheme. In our recent Ofsted report we were recognised for the impact we have on improving attendance, breaking down barriers to learning, reconnecting students with education and supporting effective reintegration. In our student and customer surveys, 98% of clients stated they would use Academy21 again and 91% of our students say they have gained more confidence in their learning since joining Academy21. As one of our students recently told us:
“I want to thank you all so much for all the help you have given me since starting. I was really struggling with my mental health and was certain I wasn't going to do my GCSES this year. However, you all made me look forward to each of your lessons as you were extremely kind and created a comfortable atmosphere, I was able to learn in. I didn't feel pushed or overwhelmed with work like I did in mainstream, instead I felt motivated and happy to do well. Thanks to you I'm able to complete my GCSES” - Olivia, Year 11
Academy21 can help with:
Online provision in any location for students not attending in-person
Multiple classes running daily, ensuring pupils are placed in the most appropriate groups based on ability and at times that suit them
Small class sizes (15 pupils or less) where students can participate on their own terms
Optional well-being mentoring, social skills and counselling provision and consolidation classes to support learning gaps
Bespoke timetables that can be adjusted as needed throughout a student’s time with us, helping to gradually reintegrate young people into the mainstream school environment.
