Design and technology GCSE gets an overhaul
The current design and technology course featured a wide range of titles, such as resistant materials, textiles or graphics. The reformed course will support a single qualification title, which is designed to give students a broad knowledge of the design process, materials, techniques and equipment at the core of the subject.
The changes have been informed by subject experts to emphasise the iterative processes of designing, with the aim to better prepare pupils for a career or further study in design, engineering, manufacturing and related areas.
