THORPE PARK Resort supports ‘Learning Outside the Classroom’s’ campaign

Thorpe Park

We feel strongly about the importance of taking students outside of school to learn and have memorable experiences.

Although we are a student’s favourite park to visit after exams, we take our education programme offering very seriously and our award winning Thrills workshop is just the beginning…

Learning outside the classroom can just be a reward trip, but with higher pressures on budget spending and exam results we understand that teachers will want different levels of ‘education time’ on the day so our programme is designed to cater for all needs.

For all ‘Edu-tasters’ who are looking for up to 30 minutes of focus , you can choose a park 15 minute speed session or a 30 minute THORPE EDUCATION DAILY (T.E.D) talk in STEM or business subjects. For all ‘All Ed-clusive’ teachers, you can book an hour interactive workshop as well as download our self-guided app! The best bit is that all options are available from only £1pp!

And for those that are looking for the ultimate educational field trip that offers incredible value for money and receives the best credit from our visiting teachers, you could book onto one of our student events of the year…

Our student events are focused around the principles of learning outside the classroom and this year we are focusing on three themes:

STEM & Careers Fair event (26th-27th April 2018)

This event is unmissable for those wishing to inspire student careers whether they are taking SATS, GSCE’s or A-levels. Highlights of the event include expert led engineering and physics talks from our trade experts including Dawn Childs (Merlin Group Engineering Director), access to a large exhibit convention that will be full of hands-on exhibits in computer science, VR, robotics, design + technology, natural sciences, physics and engineering, as well as, live shows based around the science of rollercoasters. The list goes on…

I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here: Face your Fear event (24-25th May 2018)

Who will be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle in your class? The perfect enrichment trip that has a focus around the habitats, adaptations and geography of animals, perfect for Key Stage 2 & 3 students. Students will challenge their bravery through a series of challenges to test their nerve. Activities include handling live animals and bug eating contests!

The Walking Dead: The Living Nightmare event (14th-15th June 2018)

Take a private tour through our Walking Dead venue and learn the role of our actors and become a walker! Groups will learn about what goes on behind the scenes from the people who run the attraction during our Fright Nights and also have the opportunity to ask questions to our marketing department about the creation and execution of the October business campaign. Recommended for Key Stage 4+.

All events are £15.00 per student which includes theme park entry with access to all rides and attractions. So you’re not paying any more than a normal entry ticket to the park – it’s a no brainer!
All bookings include fee teacher ratio (1:10), free risk assessment planning tickets, 1-1 support through our Education Inbox, free downloadable resources and free coach parking.
