Wellspring Academy Trust starts leadership programme

Wellspring Academy Trust has launched an innovative new programme and is inviting inspirational leaders from all walks of life to share their experiences with teachers and school staff as part of their Positive Regard training and professional development scheme.

The programme 'Leadership Conversations' has so far welcomed Rotherham United manager Paul Warne and Hywel Roberts, renowned author and speaker.

Paul Warne emphasised the importance of working as a team and his unique approach to leadership in the cut and thrust of professional football management. He explained how relationships are key and gave insights into how to get the best from a team, develop strong relationships and strive for success, before exploring how life on the pitch could be applied to an educational setting.

More recently, Hywel Roberts spoke to a roomful of school leaders about curriculum and the work he does in the world of model teaching contributing to and advising curriculum designers and innovators

Mark Wilson, chief executive at Wellspring, said: “Our Leadership Conversations initiative aims to expand our understanding of leadership by learning from experts both within education and from other sectors.
